India Vs Srilanka Asia Cup Final

India won the Asia Cup 2023 for the eighth time by defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in a one-sided final at Colombo on Sunday. Sri Lanka, who won the toss and chose to bat, were bowled out for a paltry 50 runs in 15.2 overs, their lowest total in ODIs. Mohammed Siraj was the star of the show for India, taking six wickets for 21 runs in seven overs, including an over with four wickets. He was supported by Hardik Pandya, who took three wickets for three runs in 2.2 overs. Only Kusal Mendis (17) and Dushan Hemantha (13) reached double figures for Sri Lanka.

India chased down the target in just 6.1 overs without losing any wicket. Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan opened the innings and scored 27 and 23 runs respectively, hitting nine fours between them. Sri Lanka’s bowlers had no answer to India’s dominance and could not take a single wicket or create any pressure. India finished the match with 263 balls remaining, the most by any team in an ODI.

Siraj was named the player of the match for his sensational spell, while Kuldeep Yadav was named the player of the series for taking nine wickets in four matches. India lifted the trophy amid confetti and celebrations, while Sri Lanka were left to rue their dismal performance in the final.
